Our 1920s craftsman style house was charming and in a great neighborhood, but way too small. When we were ready to add on, we went with ARW. They recommended an architect who came up with a design. The neighborhood is still "oohing" and "ahhing". "It doesn't even look like an addition," is a comment we hear a lot. "It blends so well with the existing structure that you can't really tell new from old." The architect recommended design features such as broad-based square columns on the balcony and a pergola over the back porch to make it all come together without sacrificing an ounce of architectural integrity.
From the design stage, ARW took over, fleshing out that beautiful design. We were impressed with the efficient and courteous work crew that ARW coordinated. And while any addition can be an inconvenience, this one went up really quickly once they broke ground.
Skip put us in touch with quality, cost-effective suppliers for floors, tiling, roofing, kitchen cabinets and windows and doors. The quality workmanship made the whole project successful. Skip knows his stuff and pays attention to details - he made sure everything was right before they went on to the next stage.
Now we have our dream house - twice the size it used to be - thanks to Skip and ARW Contracting. We love it. If you're thinking about renovating or adding on to your home, we highly recommend that you save yourself a lot of heartache and give Skip a call.

The firm of ARW Contracting did major remodeling on my 2-bedroom condominium (condo) in Alexandria, Virginia five years ago. Included in the work they did for me was professionally designed crown molding and new base boards throughout the entire unit, decorative door frames, painting throughout, staining of front door and much more.
I can say unequivocally that Skip and Bobbi Walker, owners of ARW Contracting are the best in the business. They are consummate professionals, exacting in their work, honest to a fault and they stand behind their word and their work. Their ability to work with very little lost motion had the work in my condo completed by my agreed to timeline and at the cost agreed upon. An added bonus was that they left my condo at the end of each day clean and tidy.
The end result was a condo that could have stepped out of House Beautiful. When I sold the condo this past year I had it on the market for 2 days. The realtors were lined up to show the property since it showed so well and all because of ARW Contracting. My words do not do justice to this company and the work they do.
